The library has over 50,000 books, 275 periodicals, 55 electronic databases, and over 2,500 videos and DVDs, 90 percent of which deal with art and design. The college's digital database, Luna, is available online for study and classroom presentation; please see Academic Technology for training.
You will need your current CCS ID to check out books. Students may check out books for two weeks with one renewal if there are no holds placed on the book. Other materials have varying check out fines; please check at the circulation desk 313.664.7642.
Reference assistance is available at all times the library is open. Visual Resources, located in the CCS Library, manages the content of a digital image database with approximately 188,000 images for teaching and research purposes. The database can be accessed online. (http://luna.collegeforcreativestudies.edu/luna/servlet). Our software also allows the user to pull in images from Flickr, enabling personal collections to be included in classroom presentations. Faculty must obtain training and an official login from Academic Technologies (313.664.1500 or 313.664.1501) in order to obtain high resolution images online.
