Monday-Thursday: 8 a.m.-11:30 p.m. Saturday: Noon-11: 30 p.m.
Friday: 8 a.m.-10 p.m. Sunday: Noon-11: 30 p.m.
Lab times will extend prior to midterms and end of semester. Watch for postings.
Student IDs are required for computer lab access.

Which labs are open for use outside of class time?
Lower-level labs are available as long as there is no class running. Class schedules are posted outside each classroom.

How do I access AV labs/production studio?

The Audio-Visual Suites and Production Studio are available by advanced reservation, which can be made Monday – Thursday, 8:30am - 10:30pm and Friday, 8:30am - 12:00pm in the Audio-Visual Center [W016]. Reservations for Saturday, Sunday or for after regular building hours must be made before noon on Friday so that Security can be notified.

If there is no advance reservation, students are welcome to sign out the AV Suites or Production Studio on a first come, first serve basis. All reservations will only be available in 90-minute blocks. Students are required to bring their student ID in order for use of the AV Suites at all times.

Where do I report computer hardware/software problems?

Report all problems to the Help Desk by submitting a Help Desk ticket through the link on the CCS Blackboard website.

You may also call the Help Desk at (313) 664-7818, Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm. After regular business hours or on Saturdays, please call the Audio-Visual Center at (313) 664-7647.

Please give a detailed account of the problem to ensure proper repair, especially noting the lab room and the computer that is having the problem.

Are proctors required to help me with software usage?

Proctors are not required to tutor or teach software applications. Questions regarding how to use software applications should be directed to your instructor.

Where are scanners located?

Scanners are located in every computer lab. Moreover, every Mac lab on the lower level of the Walter B. Ford II Building has a large-format scanner (11 x 17) and a regular-sized scanner, and most labs on the lower level have a slide scanner as well. The CCS Library also has large-format scanners that you may use.

How much printing am I allowed to do?

Please do not make more than two copies of work. Excessive printing from the Internet is prohibited. Proctors will be monitoring printer usage.

Please submit a ticket through the Help Desk link on Blackboard or by calling (313) 664-7818 between the hours of 8:30am-4:30pm, Monday through Friday. After regular business hours or on Saturdays, please call the Audio-Visual Center at (313) 664-7647. Please detail the lab room whose printer supplies are low.

Where are the recycling bins located?

There are recycling boxes for paper next to each printer, as well as a large bin located near the restrooms. These are for paper items only, not trash.
